EDI Strategic Priorities

NASP and its members are dedicated to equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) for students and school psychologists. By being a member, you help fund critical resource development for equitable and culturally responsive practice, including the EDI podcast series, which is entering its second season later in 2024. Read more about EDI initiatives that are part of NASP’s strategic plan.

Minority Scholarships

Last year, NASP members donated more than $20,000 to support the Minority Scholarship Program. Donor support has helped fund nearly 100 scholars since the program’s inception in 1995. This program offers tuition assistance for school psychology graduate students from minoritized backgrounds to help break down barriers to graduate education and further diversify the profession of school psychology.

Funding for Shortages

Because of member support, we’ve made incredible strides in addressing workforce shortages. Our advocacy has helped expand access to and save existing school psychology training programs; provide financial support, including paid internships, for graduate students; and recruit and retain practitioners through salary increases, NCSP stipends, funding for professional development, and more.
