What the Modern Presence of Water on Mars Means

Scientists have discovered signs of water on Mars, which adds to the speculation that life could survive on the planet. NASA says the new findings published today “provide the strongest evidence yet that liquid water flows intermittently on present-day Mars.” In this photograph, dark, narrow streaks on Martian slopes such as these at Hale Crater are inferred to be formed by seasonal flow of water on contemporary Mars. The streaks are roughly the length of a football field. Read more on TIME.com. (Photograph by NASA/JPL-Caltech/Univ. of Arizona) #👽 #💧

Stargazers were treated to a rare sight on Sunday night: a supermoon eclipse. The phenomenon only happens when a full lunar eclipse coincides with the moon’s closest approach to the Earth. Until Sunday night, these events had not occurred in unison for 33 years, and another 18 years will pass before we get to experience a supermoon eclipse again.
