Tesla CEO Elon Musk on Thursday unveiled the company’s long-awaited electric semi truck at an event outside Los Angeles. The Tesla Semi, with autopilot features like automatic braking and lane-keeping systems, has been touted by the electric-car maker as a way to drastically transform the commercial trucking industry, with a chance to cut down on pollution and save on labor costs. With a design that will allow drivers to stand in the cab, Musk said the new model will give drivers a better experience and also enhance safety on the road. Tesla has said each truck will also have built-in connectivity with a fleet-management system to allow routing and remote monitoring. The company has yet to offer full details on the truck’s range, price, and future production plans.
