I am especially drawn to stories that illuminate trends, including how the state of the economy is affecting hiring and productivity. Recently, I have also written about aviation safety.
My Background
Since I joined The Times in 2014, I have covered a variety of topics. I wrote the DealBook newsletter, then covered advertising and print and digital media. In 2018, I moved to politics, writing about the midterm elections, and later, Bernie Sanders and the 2020 presidential campaign. As part of that reporting, I lived in Iowa for three months during the run-up to the state’s caucuses. After the election, I returned to the Business section to cover the economy and its pandemic-related gyrations.
I graduated from Brown University, where I was editor in chief of the school’s independent newspaper, The Brown Daily Herald. I live in New York with my family and enjoy running, cooking and cuddling with my cats.
Journalistic Ethics
Like all Times journalists, I am committed to upholding the standards of integrity outlined in our Ethical Journalism Handbook. I take confidentiality extremely seriously and believe that protecting my sources is vital. I make every effort to understand issues from multiple angles. I always try to give the subjects of my articles the chance to respond to my reporting. I do not accept gifts, money or favors from anyone who might figure into my reporting. I do not participate in politics, make political donations or engage in public or private advocacy around policy issues. When I am working, I identify myself as a reporter for The Times.

The company’s chief executive, Dave Calhoun, said he would leave at the end of the year. Stan Deal, Boeing’s head of commercial planes, departed immediately.
