By Shivani Gonzalez
Every Monday my “What’s on TV This Week” column outlines notable new or returning shows airing on cable, as well as a selection of movies and specials. I also sometimes contribute to other areas of coverage, including film, television and pop music.
I grew up in upstate New York and had my first byline in my local small town newspaper at 14. After getting a political studies degree in Canada — I am a dual American-Canadian citizen — I moved to New York City and got my first journalism job as an editing fellow at an online publication. I took a quick detour into politics, serving as a political communications director, before finding my way back to journalism at The Times.
All Times journalists are committed to upholding the standards of integrity outlined in our Ethical Journalism Handbook.
