Portrait of Sandra E. Garcia

Sandra E. Garcia

I focus on trends and the way we live, and also cover breaking news. I like to write about culture and the many ways it ebbs and flows to find itself in the moment.

I joined The Times in 2013 as a clerk on the Metro desk. After four years, I became a reporter on Express, a department that delivers breaking and trending news around the clock. Two years later, I joined the Styles desk. I attended Lehman College and the Columbia University School of Journalism.

Like all Times journalists, I share the values and adhere to the standards of integrity outlined in The Times’s Ethical Journalism Handbook.
