Since the mid-1970s, the MFA has acquired artisan furniture to be used as gallery seating (known as the Please Be Seated Collection), each one distinctive and with a story of its own. Twelve of these pieces, including this playful bench, are on view in “Tender Loving Care: Contemporary Art from the Collection.” Learn how conservators care for this unique group of gallery furniture, and while enjoying the talk, please be seated!
