Police officers forcefully shove opposition lawmaker Naama Lazimi at Tel Aviv anti-government protest
During the anti-government demonstration outside the Kirya military base in central Tel Aviv, police officers were filmed grabbing and shoving opposition lawmaker Naama Lazimi of Israel's Labor Party.
In an interview with Channel 12 News, Lazimi said that "The police arrested someone who had brought a friend's phone; [the police] did not agree to hand over the phone. I intervened and said sorry, it's a private phone."
"I was trying to help her, and they grabbed me by the hair and literally choked me ... We've already copped it from the police, but not me – they really grabbed me by the hair and strangled me," Lazimi continued.
When asked if the police knew that she was a member of the Knesset, Lazimi responded, "Of course, I've been here [protesting] for nine months – but even if they didn't, I don't need them to strangle me."

During an attempt to leave the scene, the citizen was injured in a car accident and taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Israel's chief Sephardi rabbi: Secular judges don't hold a candle to our rabbis
Israel's chief Sephardic rabbi Yitzhak Yosef commented Saturday on the High Court ruling that ultra-Orthodox Israelis cannot be exempted from military service, saying, "I got it in the neck. Who did I get it from? From the secular judges?"
"[Do the secular judges] know one page of Gemara?" Yosef asked. "They don't know anything about their lives. All the gentiles' laws. What do they know? They don't hold a candle to our rabbis. But should I be scared of them? No need to be scared," he continued.
Released hostage Adina Moshe: 'The pretentious slogan of eliminating Hamas is nonsense'
Adina Moshe, who was released from Hamas captivity during the cease-fire in November, said at the hostage rally in Kiryat Gat that "the pretentious slogan of eliminating Hamas is nonsense. Their teachings and faith cannot be eliminated, the whole strip is Hamas." Moshe said that she had lost hope that the government would bring about the release of the hostages, and therefore her greatest fear is "that at the end of this long process, Hamas will have nothing to lose and will take revenge on the hostages."
Moshe said that "the conditions in the tunnels where most of the captives are kept are unbearably difficult - no air, no electricity, no water, terrible heat and tremendous humidity." She described her abduction: "The main road of Khan Yunis was flooded with women, children and old men, flooding all the streets with joyful cheers and trying to beat me, when I was being led on a motorcycle close to Hamasnik."

U.S. offers Hamas chance to amend Gaza cease-fire proposal backed by Israel in hopes of compromise
The Biden administration has been working on a new cease-fire proposal in the hopes of getting Hamas to reconsider its opposition to the offer recently backed by Israel. Over the past few days, the U.S. has offered the organization the opportunity to make amendments to the proposed deal announced by President Joe Biden last month, though sources familiar with the negotiations say there has been no breakthrough.
"Hamas needs to decide to cooperate with the proposal instead of obstructing it," said a foreign source involved in the talks. "Only then will it be possible to advance it."
The source added, "There is significant pressure on Hamas by the U.S. government and Qatar to backtrack on the numerous objections it raised to Biden's proposal… There hasn't been sufficient progress from the organization so far, but this could change at any moment, depending on its interests."
'Netanyahu is sabotaging a hostage deal because Ben-Gvir is blackmailing him': Tens of thousands rally across Israel
Retired IDF general Noam Tibon, speaking at a demonstration outside the defense ministry complex, blamed Benjamin Netanyahu and his government for neglecting their responsibilities, labeling them as leaders of a 'massacre government.'
Tibon emphasized that while IDF soldiers "fight bravely in Gaza," Netanyahu "failed to leverage significant battlefield gains for hostage negotiations." He added that "Netanyahu's political calculations and reliance on figures like Ben-Gvir and Smotrich" undermined "at least two" potential agreements since the last deal. He said, "Netanyahu is cynically sabotaging the deals, knowing that the hostages are suffering torture and murder in Gaza tunnels."
Einav Zangauker, whose son Matan is held in Gaza, spoke as well, and said: "Netanyahu now claims he'll do everything to bring the hostages home, but I tell you, he's lying. He's a liar. The truth is, Netanyahu continues to sabotage because Ben-Gvir and Smotrich are blackmailing him. Even now, there's a deal on the table, and he's doing everything not to sign it because he's held captive by his coalition partners. It's shameful that he's our prime minister."
