Khalisa Phillips, and other Engineering Sciences staff, will participate in a Webex meeting with the ASTM F15.09 Pictogram Task Group on 07/01/2024 from 11am to 12pm ET. This meeting was requested by ASTM to discuss strangulation incidents on home playgrounds, and to continue developing a warning label pictogram to address the hazard. Tim Smith, Division of Human Factors, and other CPSC staff will be participating in virtual, Webex meetings of the ASTM F15.16 Nursing Pillows Warnings task group. These meetings were requested by ASTM to discuss the warning requirements of the draft voluntary standard for nursing pillows. Chair Hoehn-Saric and his staff will participate in a meeting with representatives from the Household and Commercial Products Association (HCPA) at 3:00 PM on Thursday, June 27. The meeting will take place virtually on Webex. Brad Gordon, Directorate of Engineering Sciences, and other CPSC staff will be participating in recurring teleconference meetings with the ASTM F15.59 Standing Tower and Step Stool Performance Task Group Meeting. The Task Group plans to meet on June 27, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM (ET), to discuss performance data for children’s step stools and standing towers. This meeting was requested by ASTM. Scott Ayers of the Directorate for Engineering Sciences and others will participate in a joint-task group meeting on gas and electric ranges knobs. The meeting will discuss fire safety issues and potential solutions to reduce the risk of accidentally turning ranges on. The meeting was organized by the joint-task group.
