Now celebrating its 6th year presenting free Shakespeare in the streets of Park Slope, South Brooklyn Shakespeare (SBS) has announced its 2018 production: Five FREE performances of Shakespeare's The Winter's Tale in Park Slope, with opening night serving as the main event of Park Slope Fifth Avenue's Summer Stroll #2 performed on 5th Avenue at 18th Street (July 28), plus four performances staged outside The Old Stone House (August 1-4). Shakespeare's late romance, The Winter's Tale, opens on the Kingdom of Sicilia, where unfounded jealousy leads the king to destroy his family and a long friendship.

Devised at breakneck speed in just ten days by a company renowned for anarchic, divisive work, Filter's Twelfth Night was always destined to be a curious beast. Indeed, from the second the audience steps into the Birmingham Rep, it is clear this is going to be no ordinary Shakespeare. We appear to have arrived at the early stages of a rock gig; the stage is littered with cables, amps, and instruments, the stage manager's desk lies in plain sight of the audience, and the cast test microphones, check lines and chat casually to their spectators.
