Bombarda Maxima was the incantation used for the strongest variation of the Bombardment Spell. It provoked large, violent explosions capable of demolishing entire walls.

History

During the 1990–1991 school year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, the then Defence Against the Dark Arts Professor, Olivia Green, taught her seventh-years how to use this spell in class, as part of her curriculum focused on both theoretical and practical defensive magic.

• In the film adaptation of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Professor Umbridge uses this to break into the Room of Requirement. In the book, however, Dobby warns the DA about Umbridge before she arrives, and they are caught when trying to escape. This means that Umbridge's usage of this spell in this instance is not canon.
