Govt portal offered more jobs than applied for in FY24: 1.09 crore Vs 87.27 lakh
In the fiscal year 2023-24, the National Career Service (NCS) job portal displayed a notable trend in job vacancies surpassing the number of job seekers. According to NCS data, there were 87,27,900 registered job-seekers compared to 1,092,4161 job vacancies. This marks a significant increase in job availability, with vacancies rising by 214 percent over the previous year.
Jobs listed on govt portal rise 3x to 10.9 mn in FY24
The government's job portal saw a three-fold increase in vacancies to 10.9 million in FY24, marking the highest mobilization since its launch in 2015. The number of jobseekers shortlisted increased 53% to 8.72 million, with finance and insurance sector having the highest number of vacancies at 4.66 million. The data also revealed a surge in low-skilled and low-paid jobs, with 6.88 million jobs posted for 12th pass job seekers.

SSC to conduct re-examination for constable recruitment on March 30

MCD passes proposal to hire gardeners to maintain parks, greenery in Delhi
According to the tabled document, the proposed manpower will be hired cluster-wise by the horticulture department of the corporation for five months. A total cost of Rs 24,81,09,100 will be incurred for hiring the manpower across five clusters. "Maintenance of parks and greenery cannot be achieved without deploying manpower as the department is dependent on outsourced manpower for maintenance of parks and gardens," the proposal reasoned.
