Beth HundsdorferFollow me @BethCapNews

A quintessential watchdog reporter, Beth joined CNI in 2021. She takes pride in telling stories that other reporters and news outlets will not. At the Belleville News Democrat for nearly 20 years before joining CNI, she was part of an award-winning investigative reporting team. Beth is based in the Metro East, where she grew up. She enjoys hiking, cooking, camping, listening to music, reading and a good glass of red wine. She is currently studying French.

WHEN SHE’S NOT WORKING WITH CNI: Beth enjoys hikes and other adventures with her two dogs, Murphy and Dublin. She also enjoys cooking, camping, kayaking, listening to music, reading and a good glass of red wine. She is currently studying French.

WHY SHE JOINED CNI: To bring investigative reporting to small newspapers around the state. Investigative reporting is about speaking truth to those who have the power to make change. In the words of famed Illinois writer Studs Terkel, ordinary people have the power to do extraordinary things and that’s what it is all about. They must count.

WHAT SHE WANTS YOU TO KNOW ABOUT CNI: CNI has allowed me to continue to do investigative reporting that has reach across the state of Illinois. CNI is truly about the work and process of journalism. Getting it right. Getting results.

WHERE SHE SEES CNI IN THE FUTURE: “We will continue to build respect around the state as a trusted news source that doesn’t just follow the news but tells the stories that others do not.”
