'WISN 12 News' Draws the Top Three Local News Audiences All Week Long

MILWAUKEE – May 23, 2024 – The latest Nielsen viewing data for May 2024 reveals WISN 12 continues to lead all other stations’ local weekday news among southeastern Wisconsin households with its 5, 6, and 10 p.m. newscasts. The station has drawn the market’s top weekday local news audiences with these three evening newscasts in every major Nielsen measurement period – February, May, July, and November – since November 2019.WISN 12’s live extended coverage during severe weather across Southeastern Wisconsin in May, drew larger audiences than any other station’s severe weather coverage or regular newscasts. Weather Watch 12’s continuous live coverage during tornado warnings on May 7thfrom 8 to 9 p.m. drew 56,371 households. The station also achieved the same top morning news audience rankings in May, July, November 2023, and in February 2024.In midday news, WISN 12 continues to draw the top audience averaging 18,450 impressions weekdays at 11:00 a.m. followed by WITI (17,539) at 11 a.m., WTMJ (17,227) at noon, and WDJT (11,065) at noon.On the weekend, WISN 12 draws six of the top ten local news audiences total day, while “WISN 12 News This Morning” 7-9 a.m. Saturday (28,108 impressions) and Sunday (24,841) draw the top two audiences for local morning news. WISN 12’s locally produced current affairs program, UPFRONT, draws an aggregate 38,133 households for its Sunday 9 a.m. and 11 p.m. half-hour broadcasts – an audience increase of 8 percent from May 2023.
