What if we told you airport layovers could go beyond snooze-worthy strolls around duty-free stores and a few cheeky cocktails at the closest bar? We’re talking dancing, bumping beats, and sweaty crowds.

This summer, a Frankfurt-based brand Club Solaire is hosting electronic music rave pop-ups at Frankfurt Airport for travelers waiting for flights, as well as anyone nearby looking to party while planespotting. The next event is slated for July 6.

Created by Christian and Caspar of the Frankfurt-based brand Club Solaire, the idea behind these airport raves is “freedom, good vibes, and good music,” says Christian. Hosted on the outdoor terrace of Frankfurt Airport’s Terminal 2, the event mimics a “darty,” starting around 3 pm and ending anywhere from 10 pm to midnight.

Whether you’re a die-hard electronic music fan or just now dipping your toe into the genre, Club Solaire promises high-energy sets from world-famous artists. The first airport rave by Club Solaire featured the Belgian DJ Maxi Meraki, while this upcoming iteration will showcase the emerging Norwegian artist Meera. “Modern new music, new electronic music, African influences, techno influences, all of those genres combined are what we look for in our DJs,” says Christian.

Along with the beats, guests can purchase drinks from an outdoor bar near the dance floor.

To clarify, attendees do not have to purchase plane tickets to access this Frankfurt Airport venue. The outdoor terrace is located before security—although travelers waiting for flights will have to go through security again before boarding.

Club Solaire’s first airport appearance in May hailed around 800 ravers, so we can only expect that, if not more, this July. If you happen to be traveling around Germany or luckily have a flight or layover on July 6, we’ll see you on the dance floor. Also, keep an eye out—the Club Solaire team plans to expand its vision to other airports worldwide.

The next Club Solaire rave at Frankfurt Airport in Terminal 2 is slated for July 6. Tickets are available online.
