A Huge List of Sales: Chunky Hokas and a Cloud Sofa Dupe

You may have noticed some posts from our friends at the Strategist on the Cut. They’ll be dropping in every now and again, sharing their expertise on the basics you don’t have time to research and the weird and wonderful things you don’t yet know you need.

Summer only officially began yesterday—yet there’s a ton of warm weather stuff already on sale. First, our fashion writer Ambar Pardilla noticed there are a lot of sandals on sale this week. I pulled a few of her picks below — including the heels that Strategist senior writer Liza Corsillo wore on her wedding day. Then I headed to Rothy’s, which also has some nice discounts on its (machine-washable!) shoes.

Although it’s hot outside, I feel obligated to tell you that the Madewell jeans from one of our most clicked-on stories this week — an ode to a pair of jeans that fits everybody — is 30 percent off in a nice light wash that’s perfect for summer (weather permitting). I also took a leisurely stroll through Shopbop’s sale section and found plenty of sunglasses and scrunchies on sale. (Though my favorite find is a classic, stripey Baggu tote that’s 40 percent off.) Of course, if you prefer to stay indoors during national heat waves, I’m delighted to report that Anthropologie’s sale section is filled with lots of excellent deals to decorate your tabletop, from linen placemats to colorful drinking glasses. And Strategist home writer Erin Schwartz found a very comfortable-looking RH-dupe couch on sale at World Market.

And as always, make sure to sign up for our email newsletter for even more sales coverage — including extra deals each Friday hand-selected by yours truly.

Chris Black first turned us onto this this “big boy” OtterBox: “It does not fit nicely in the pocket, but chances are your jeans are less expensive to replace than your shiny new phone.”

$28

I spotted several oval- and square-framed sunnies under $50. I’m taken with this chocolate-brown pair …

… but this cherry-red pair is also quite striking in a French New Wave way.

$27

Over at Lisa Says Gah, sale items are an extra 25 percent off at checkout. I’ve had my eye on these earrings for weeks. I’ll probably take the plunge now that they’re under $30.

The jeans that one stylist has recommended to over 150 clients are now 30 percent off when you buy them in this ultralight wash. “I get a lot of little texts, out of the blue, like, ‘The best thing I got during our shopping session was the jeans,’” she says.

We also named these our best overall plus-size jeans.

Rolla’s Sailor Jeans
From $100
From $100

These ultrahigh-waisted, dramatically flared jeans from Rolla’s are on sale in off-white.

$165

Chunky, hiking-shoe-like Hokas for casual walks or trail running. They’re on sale at both the brand’s site and Urban Outfitters — but in different colors, so I recommend checking out both before purchasing.

$44

Our fashion writer Ambar Pardilla just rounded up all her favorite sandals on sale, as there are so many right now. I also like this deeply discounted pair, which is under $50 and comes in five colors.

Alohas Grace Sandals

Strategist senior writer Liza Corsillo wore these heels on her wedding day.

Rothy’s The Point Mary Jane

I’ve got my eye on these even-more-casual clogs.

Rothy’s The Kids Sneaker
From $39
From $39

One of Rothy’s main selling points is that all its shoes can be chucked into the washing machine — which is especially helpful with kids’ shoes.

A very cute way to get sunscreen-averse little ones to get some extra sun protection.

Plenty of silk scrunchies that won’t leave a dent (but will give you lived-in waves).

$34

If you’ve got a taste for the finer things in life — but perhaps not the budget for them — this 100 percent cashmere eye mask is deeply discounted.

From $66

I often see our favorite travel-friendly water flosser go on sale for 30 percent off, but it’s been a while since the discount’s been higher than that. Right now, it’s 32 to 34 percent off, depending on which color you get. (Gray is the cheapest.)

Everything at Ole Henriksen is 20 percent off this weekend when you use our code STRENGTH20. The brand’s culty Banana Bright+ Eye Cream is loaded with vitamin C, which banishes dark under-eye circles (and keeps under-eye concealer in place).

Peptides are the “It” ingredient in lip treatments right now. Try the trend (for less) with this plumping balm — pictured here in the especially pleasing Strawberry Sorbet shade — to keep your lips hydrated and soft.

Select Herbivore products are 25 percent off with the code BDAY13. Strategist senior editor Winnie Yang is a fan of this fatty-acid-packed face oil that moisturizes and renews dehydrated skin.

$13

Strategist beauty columnist Rio Viera-Newton says this face-mask set from KNC Beauty helps to soothe, hydrate, and brighten — especially after a day spent in front of the AC or if her skin is red and blotchy from the heat.

Dusen Dusen Oak Dog Bed
$190

We spotted one of Dusen Dusen’s embroidered dog beds on sale at both Coming Soon and Revolve.

Strategist home writer Erin Schwartz tipped me off to this excellent deal on this best-in-class feather-filled couch. (It’s as an affordable dupe for the RH Cloud sofa.)
