Stumb, Paul Rust, age 90. He was preceded in death by parents Grace Cavert and Paul Stumb, Jr. and by his grandson, Paul Stumb, V.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mary Schlater Stumb; children, Paul Cavert Stumb (Cristy), Thomas Schlater Stumb (Kathy), Susan Stumb Jones (Will); sister, Florence Stumb Davis; sisters-in-law, Louise Rose Herbert, Jane Violette Schlater; grandchildren, Maryanne Stumb McWhirter (Terrell), Trey Geisenhoffer (Erin), Christopher Geisenhoffer (Elizabeth), Tee Stumb (Bette), Grace Stumb, Mary Denton McFadden (Will), Katy Stumb, Jake Stumb, Lelia Jones Scogin (Alex), Mary Jones, Grace Jones; great-grandchildren, Anne Blair McWhirter, Paul McWhirter, Ava Geisenhoffer, Raelyn Geisenhoffer, Kylie Geisenhoffer, Harrison Geisenhoffer, Emerson Geisenhoffer, Emilio Geisenhoffer, Poppy Stumb; nieces and nephews, Lip Davis (Kim), Adelaide Davis, Gigi Davis, Sarah Yavorski (Rob), Amy Schlater-Berg (Fred), Libs Schlater, Donna Dodson, Johnny Herbert, Alva Herbert and Mary Rose Herbert.

Paul graduated as valedictorian in 1952 from The Webb School in Bell Buckle, Tennessee. He graduated from Vanderbilt University in 1956, where he was president of the Sigma Chi fraternity, and from Vanderbilt Medical School in 1960. Dr. Stumb completed his internship and residency at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta. Following his medical service as a Lieutenant in the US Navy in Charleston, SC, Paul completed his cardiology fellowship at the VA Hospital in West Roxbury, MA.

For 36 years, Paul practiced internal medicine in Nashville. Post-retirement, he was an Appeals Review Specialist with TennCare and a Disability Claims Medical Reviewer with the State of Tennessee.

Paul served on the boards of The Webb School, The Tennessee Medical Association, Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce, Blue Cross-Blue Shield of Tennessee, Physicians Community Health Group, Southeastern Clinical Club, Richland Place Retirement Living Community and was President of the Nashville Academy of Medicine. He was a member of West End United Methodist Church, The Coffee House Club, The Milton Club of Nashville and Belle Meade Country Club.

Service will be held on Monday, July 15, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at West End United Methodist Church followed by visitation with the family from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.
