I'd recommend a practicing a front wrap cross carry first before attempting to do with your baby. When you use a stretchy wrap, you are modifying it by pulling those vertical pieces of fabric and spreading them across baby as well. With a general stretchy wrap, you always want three full pieces of fabric over babies torso and even better to have that fully spread from knee to knee and under the bottom on both sides.
