Mr. Eric Burke earned his Master's in Education, B.S. in Environmental Science, as well as National Board Professional Teaching Certification and is currently teaching Earth and Space Science in Los Angeles. A strong advocate of hands-on, inquiry-based learning, he involves students in a variety of community service, problem-solving, and technology infused activities that provide students with opportunities to use their life experiences.
Mr. Burke's professional interests focus on using his science background to enrich the quality and health of our community through leadership and active education. His current projects include teaching a citizen science course as well facilitating efforts to repurpose laptops into instructional tools. In addition, he is an active volunteer coach for youth soccer. Mr. Burke was honored as a 2008 Olympic Torchbearer for his dedication to community enrichment.
