Avalanche Star Nathan MacKinnon's Girlfriend Charlotte Walker Stole The Show At The NHL Awards

Colorado Avalanche center Nathan MacKinnon put together an impressive run last season.  He had a career-high 140 points and recorded at least one bra trick in that point total.

On Thursday night, his season was properly recognized at the NHL Awards Show.

MacKinnon became a recipient of the Hart Memorial Trophy as the league's MVP and the Ted Lindsay Award as the league’s most outstanding player as decided by the NHLPA.

While he had previously been nominated for both awards, MacKinnon hadn't won either of them until last night.  What's better than a two trophy night?

"Every player I grew up idolizing has their name on these things," MacKinnon said.  "To be a part of that company is surreal.  It hasn't really sunk in and it's a special thing."

Nathan MacKinnon And His Girlfriend Charlotte Walker Both Had Solid Nights At The NHL Awards Show

MacKinnon wasn't the only one in his circle to have a big night at the awards show.  His girlfriend Charlotte Walker caught the eye of social media during the ceremony and, without question, stole the show.

Stealing the show at the NHL Awards Show is not at the same level of attention that a strong NFL Draft night performance would command, obviously.  Not much is on that level.

But more than 400k views on a Thursday night at the end of June isn't bad either.  It certainly qualifies as stealing the show for an NHL awards show.

If Walker was concerned with making the most of the social media attention, which it doesn't appear that she is, she would likely have added to her follower count.

This is a strong start to the off-season.  You get a little time off, take home a few awards, steal the show, rest and recover before gearing up for a repeat performance next season.

Something tells me there will be a few more eyeballs on them as they do so.
