First and foremost, installation was a breeze. The package came with everything I needed, and the setup process was incredibly straightforward. Within minutes, I had the doorbell camera up and running, connecting it to my home WiFi network effortlessly. The camera's sleek design adds a touch of modernity to my front entrance, and the build quality feels robust and durable.
The camera's video quality is outstanding. It boasts 1080p Full HD resolution, delivering crisp and clear footage of anyone approaching my front door. Whether it's daytime or nighttime, the camera's advanced night vision technology captures detailed images without any distortion or blurriness. This level of clarity has given me peace of mind knowing that I won't miss any important details, regardless of the time of day.
One of the standout features of the REOLINK Doorbell WiFi Camera is its local storage capability. Unlike many other doorbell cameras that solely rely on cloud storage, this camera allows me to record and store footage locally using a microSD card. This feature is a game-changer for me as it offers several key advantages:
Privacy and Security: With local storage, I have complete control over my data. I don't have to worry about my footage being stored on remote servers, ensuring my privacy and reducing any security concerns.
No Subscription Fees: Cloud storage often comes with monthly or annual subscription fees, which can add up over time. With local storage, I save money in the long run, as there are no recurring costs.
No Internet Dependency: Since the footage is stored locally, I can access it even if there are internet connectivity issues. This is especially important during power outages or internet disruptions.
The REOLINK mobile app is user-friendly and provides easy access to the camera's live feed and stored footage. I receive instant push notifications whenever the doorbell detects motion or someone rings it, allowing me to quickly check who's at the door, whether I'm at home or away.
Additionally, the camera integrates seamlessly with my other smart home devices, allowing me to create custom automation routines. For instance, I have set up an automation that turns on specific smart lights whenever the camera detects motion during nighttime, further enhancing my home security.
In terms of reliability, the REOLINK Doorbell WiFi Camera has been outstanding. It consistently delivers real-time alerts and has not experienced any glitches or malfunctions since I installed it.
In conclusion, the REOLINK Doorbell WiFi Camera with local storage is a fantastic investment for anyone seeking a top-tier doorbell camera with advanced features and total control over their data. Its exceptional video quality, easy installation, and local storage option make it a clear winner in its category. I highly recommend this camera to anyone looking to enhance their home security and enjoy the convenience of local video storage.
Motion detection works flawlessly, it detects and alerts very quickly, and I haven’t missed a thing. I also love that it requires no subscription. If you use Synology, this is also now supported directly in the Surveillance Station app.
The REOLINK app is easy to use and intuitive. Live streaming works without any hiccups, and I can easily check out recorded footage, and everything loads blazingly fast. There are also a lot of customizable features and compatibility with Amazon smart devices that allow us to have a chime in every room in our house practically.
I wired it to where our old doorbell push button was, just remember to bypass your old chime transformer if you need to, and Reolink includes easy instructions on how to do that.
Since I installed it, the doorbell has stayed connected to my WiFi without any issues. It’s been reliable and has definitely been way better than our previous Blink doorbell.

OVERVIEW
I've been waiting months for this doorbell to become available so to say that I was excited to get it is an understatement. I have had my Original Nest Hello Doorbell for around 4 years and even though the Nest arguably has some of the best video quality you can get from a doorbell camera, I want to stop paying $16/month for 24/7 cloud recording and take full advantage of my NAS & Blue Iris NVR setup. The Reolink doorbell is perfect for my situation. If you're looking for a video doorbell with RTSP/RTMP support and Home Assistant/Smart Home Integration I don't think there's anything out there with better image quality. Overall, this is a great doorbell camera that could be near perfect with a few firmware tweaks/updates and a few more video control options.
SETUP
Setting up the doorbell was pretty straightforward. They give you a wall adapter that comes with multiple fork connectors for you to power the doorbell from a regular wall outlet and you use the Reolink app to set it up. I was up and running in about 5-10 minutes.

I bought this camera with the intent on using it within Blue Iris NVR software to record 24/7 footage to my NAS. Reolink has a long track-record of compatibility issues in Blue Iris. I have a few indoor Reolink Wifi Cameras and I have had issues with video quality, dropouts, and audio delays in Blue Iris while none of the other camera brands in my home have these issues. I had the exact same issues with the doorbell and the image dropped out every few seconds. After some digging I found that Reolink cameras actually work best when using RTMP as opposed to RTSP. Once I switched over to RTMP the camera feed was stable, I had no video artifacts, and the connection was stable. The only other issue is that two-two audio doesn't work in Blue Iris so you'll be forced to use the Reolink app.
DAYTIME VIDEO QUALITY
Like most Reolink cameras, the doorbell has great daytime video quality. The viewing angle is very similar to the original Nest doorbell and the color and sharpness is great. The only issue I found is that it doesn't have a dedicated WDR/HDR mode. This means that depending on the time of day you might have very bright areas and very dark areas of the image and the camera has no way to level them out. This can lead to a person standing at your door and their face being too dark because they look like a silhouette with the bright light behind them. The Nest doorbells have always done a fantastic job with this and it it's something that I expect to see on every doorbell. Reolink does give you highlight and shadow controls which allows you to get something close to WDR by boosting shadows and lowering highlights but it's pretty limited. Also, if the doorbell never switches to night mode this results in a terrible image at night with a noisy image since the shadows are still boosted. If Reolink can add an IR sensitivity/night-mode sensitivity setting this issue would be resolved.
NIGHTTIME VIDEO QUALITY
Anyone who has had experience with Reolink outdoor cameras knows that they have stellar daytime performance but their nighttime performance is a bit lacking. The camera's aperture is low enough to let in a decent amount of light to produce a decent image without the use of the IR. However, there is a good bit of noise in dark areas of the image and quite a bit of ghosting/smearing with options at a farther distance. The ghosting can't be fixed because there are no shutter or noise-reduction settings. The bigger issue is that I wasn't able to find a way to increase the night-mode sensitivity to force it into night mode which uses the built in IR lights. I like to leave my driveway lights on at night and they provided enough light to prevent night mode from ever triggering. This left me with a noisy image. Thankfully I was able to integrate the doorbell into my Home Assistant instance and trigger my porch light to come on when the camera senses motion. Additionally, if you area is dark enough you won't have the same issues I had and the nighttime performance was actually pretty good when the IR lights are active.
TWO-WAY AUDIO QUALITY
The Reolink doorbell has good two-way audio performance. The delay is minimal (less than 1 second) and the volume from the doorbell's speaker is loud enough even though I live close to a busy highway. There were times where the audio from the speaker was slightly garbled but the microphone sensitivity was great.
ALERTS
The Reolink app was super responsive and I received person alerts within seconds of the doorbell detecting a person or someone pressing the doorbell button. The doorbell, unfortunately, doesn't work with existing doorbell chimes but they do include a plug-in doorbell chime in the box that works well. I personally don't use the chime as I have the doorbell integrated in Home Assistant so when the doorbell is pressed I have it configured to announce visitor alerts on my Google Home speakers and streams the video.

FYI, if you are running into constant connection issues, power off the power source to your doorbell and when you gain access again after it restarts, go into the doorbell settings. System | User Managment and disable "Illegal Login Lockout". This feature does not appear to be working properly and locks out the device after the initial connection. Even if you disable WAN access, you still have the same issue. Reported this to Reolink, and will see what they come back with.
UPDATE: After assistance with Reolink Support, I have an NVR also on my network for my POE Reolink external cameras and the NVR has an auto add feature. But because the auto added doorbell to the NVR needed the current password set, it was causing the lockout feature in the doorbell to kick in, because it wasn't set. Once I set the password, the issue went away.

The key features I wanted was a separate chime (my dog has been tricked by the new doorbell so far), good video quality and recording. Reolink has been doing security cameras for a long time. The chime offers 8 or so ring tones to keep my dog guessing. The recording options are particularly compelling too. For about $30 you can throw a huge micro SD card for internal recording that you can view on demand. That alone is great, but knowledable thieves could still steal your camera with the micro SD card inside. This Reolink camera can be connected to my Synology NAS using the Surveillance Station app for always on redundant recording.
The only knock is installing the camera on vinyl siding. It works, but it looks horrible with the mounting plate not being flush. I originally mounted it sideways and used the wedge to change the angle, only to learn I couldn't adjust the recording 90 degrees and that Reolink does not recommend the landscape orientation. I ended up finding a website that custom makes vinyl siding brackets for 3 or 4" siding that fits all sorts of different security cameras. Now it looks flush mounted in the portrait position.
Other than that, installation was pretty straight forward. I was able to use my existing door bell wiring without any issue. I did use the jumper to bridge my existing chime and that was clearly documented.
I now get motion alerts or people alerts as needed and I can easily see who is at the door clearly with the ability to have two way talking or use built in voices to state predefined phrases. The camera angle is perfect to see my entire porch entrance and road out front where I am often parked. I also love that it can use the 5Ghz Wifi band instead of just the 2.4Ghz band.
It is still the first week of use, but I am very impressed with the features. It came with clear easy to follow directions and all sorts of connectors and cabling to suit every installation need (other than vinyl!). One key recommendation is to make sure to configure it prior to installation. This involves using the provided AC cable and then setting up the Wifi.

◯Windows/MAC
