The OXO Good Grips Pot Holder protects your hand and other surfaces from extreme heat without sacrificing dexterity or grip. A nice pot-holder, designed to lie flat, with its fully heat protected surface upwards, so it can be used as a trivet for hot items. The material is thin enough to allow a decent level of grasp, textured to be non-slip, and has a small silicone hanging loop.Pictured: With one of my old OXO silicone mitts, one that's a comfortable fit on my L/XL-glove-size hands.I usually prefer oven mitts/gloves (to potholders) for their greater dexterity, but for large items I'll usually use a towel and a glove-- the towel being faster to doff when I need my fingers free, with the gloved hand the one in the danger zone. But a towel is not very insulating (and quite the opposite if it's wet).A pot-holder I can slip on and off one-handed takes the place of the towel, and even better if I can use it as a place to set that hot pan when the other heat-safe surfaces are already full. Definitely an upgrade. Recommended.

I got this because my husband has rather large hands and all standard oven mitts do not fit him. These are a nice alternative and he can finally use something besides a dish towel to hold hot items. It's a little clumsy for me as I have smaller typical female sized hands, but I just make sure to really know where I'm grabbing the dish/pot and they work just fine.

This is my favorite potholder in the world. Been buying, burning, and replacing them for 20 years. Wirecutter, in The NY Times, rates it best too. Why? Slender, lightweight, with a foolproof, insulated plastic grip. My only complaint is that the product is thinner in its current version. I haven’t noticed a performance problem yet. Fingers crossed.

I got these to replace the first pair of Oxo pot holders I bought years ago. The first pair have been my favorites for years and were simply worn out from use, so when I saw these I quickly ordered a pair. While they look the same, they are much flimsier... the fabric is thinner (making them a lot less heat-resistant) and the construction of them seems much lower quality. I will use them for the time being, but the search for good pot holders unfortunately continues.
