Elegant Simplicity with State-of-the-Art Performance
The Sangean WR-15 AM/FM Table Top Radio is head and shoulders above the competition. In true Sangean tradition, AM and FM reception is excellent in providing crystal clear listening. Rotary dials adjust the volume, selects AM/FM bands, and precisely tunes your station selection which can be seen in a softly lighted analog display.
An LED tuning eye assures you're achieving the best reception for your selected station. In addition, a stereo headphone jack and provision for an external AM and FM antenna is also provided. An AUX-In jack for playing your favorite MP3 music from your portable devices is available as well as a Line-Out jack for routing to your recording equipment or external devices.
The solid MDF cabinet with real Walnut veneer, Black Leatherette or Silver Piano finish of the WR-15 not only makes for an elegant appearance, but improves sound quality due to its acoustically tuned design. Its dynamic bass compensation ensures rich sound anywhere.
The WR-15 features a tuning LED indicator to help you know when you're getting the best reception possible from your antenna. Soft and precise tuning using the rotary dial makes it easy to achieve a strong, stable signal.
The 3.5 millimeter auxiliary input allows you to connect your favorite devices such as an iPod or other portable media player so you can even enjoy your digital music library on the WR-15.
The WR-15 offers a 3.5 millimeter headphone jack for private listening. A Line Out jack is also available for connection to an amplified speaker system.

Impressive!
Immediately upon opening in kitchen -- have been dancing and singing along. Have missed this quality music since my Bose equipment died. Looked for 2 years, have sent radios back. Would have liked to see it arrive boxed. Outside carton thin and arrived torn, but I lucked out.

I opted for the WR-15 over Sangean’s more popular WR-11 model. I like that the WR-15 has an “Aux” setting, allowing you to leave your aux cord plugged into the device while listening to AM or FM stations (in the WR-11, connecting the aux cord disables the radio functions). I’m glad I can switch seamlessly between the radio and audio content on my phone (podcasts, streaming internet radio, etc.). The compact, vertical design of the WR-15 also was a better fit for its placement on my small kitchen table.
I love this tabletop radio. The audio quality is rich and can be brought up to impressive volumes. The included FM antenna allows me to get clear reception of stations broadcasting from 40+ miles away. I haven’t been able to pick up many AM radio stations, but haven’t made much effort to improve AM reception since I almost exclusively listen to FM.
There are a couple of reasons why I’m giving this product a 4/5 instead of a perfect rating.
1. The tuning knob of my radio seems to slip from its base slightly when turned quickly; it’s as if the needle has to catch up with the knob as it turns. It’s a tiny movement that doesn’t interfere with tuning, but detracts from an otherwise high level of craftsmanship.
2. The audio can be a bit bass-heavy, especially when listening through headphones.
Overall, I am very satisfied with this product. Listening to local radio stations is a welcome respite from navigating the endless sea of streaming content. And using the Aux cord forces me to put down my phone while I’m cooking, reading or having dinner— honestly, a good thing!

This radio is not too big to put on the counter, yet big enough to make a statement. That sounds surprisingly, very good, even when listening to AM.
There is no static on the AM stations!! it has a retro look that I like very much. And everyone that enters my brand new kitchen mentions my radio. I would definitely recommend this product for both quality and sound.
