The Best App for Getting To-Dos Done

We have new to-do list app recommendations: TickTick Premium ($28 per year) and Things 3 (one-time fee of $50) for Mac users. We looked at 22 apps, tested six, and found that these had the best features—calendar integration, task breakdown, tagging, and more. TickTick even has location-based reminders, so you’ll never forget to pick up paper towels when you’re at the grocery store. I had been using Wunderlist (our former recommendation), but Microsoft is probably going to replace it with its new to-do list app, so this is the right time to make the switch. Still prefer pen and paper? We have lots of options for paper planners, too.
Here’s the latest on new, upcoming, and updated guides:
After wrangling our friends and colleagues of all sizes and body types to test dozens of aprons, we found nine favorites! Picks include Hedley & Bennett’s Crossback Apron and Fog Linen’s loose Over Apron—which senior staff writer Lesley Stockton refers to as a “magic smock” because it fit every person on the testing panel. Come for the aprons, stay for the amazing pictures of our staff.
Also, a question our staffers often get asked is: “Do you get to keep all the stuff you test?” The answer: Nope! Wirecutter fact checker and writer Christina Colizza explains why in a new blog post.
