The city of Brussels has said it will not host Belgium’s men’s Nations League game against Israel in September due to fears over the safety of players and fans.
The 50,000-capacity King Baudouin Stadium in Brussels, Belgium’s capital, is the traditional home of the national team but the city said in a statement released on Wednesday that it would be “impossible to organise this very high-risk match”.
