Nottingham Forest have completed the signing of Eric da Silva Moreira from St Pauli in a deal worth around £1.25million ($1.57m) with potential add-ons.

The Athletic previously reported that the 18-year-old right-back, who can also play as a right winger and as a wing-back, was scheduled to fly into England to complete his move to the Premier League club.

Da Silva Moreira has signed a four-year contract that will keep him at the City Ground until at least 2028.

He said: “I’m really happy to be here. I’ve heard a lot about the Premier League and a lot about many clubs, so I’m very happy to be at Nottingham Forest, especially at a club that has a lot of tradition just like my old club.

“Me and my family are really happy about this new challenge. I can’t wait to get started and get to know the city, the people and everything about the club.”

Da Silva Moreira is a client of agent Jorge Mendes, who also represents Forest head coach Nuno Espirito Santo and has a close relationship with owner Evangelos Marinakis.

The teenager made 15 appearances in all competitions last season, scoring four goals and providing one assist.

He made only one appearance in the 2. Bundesliga, while his team topped the league and secured promotion to the German top flight for the first time in 13 years.

Da Silva Moreira was also part of the Germany side that won both the under-17 World Cup and European Championship in 2023.

Forest also completed the signing of Marko Stamenic from Red Star Belgrade. The 22-year-old midfielder will spend the 2024-25 season on loan at Olympiacos in Greece, a club also owned by Marinakis.
