AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli will step down at the end of the season, the club have confirmed.
Former Inter Milan, Fiorentina and Lazio manager Pioli joined the Rossoneri in October 2019 following the sacking of Marco Giampaolo.
Pioli took over at San Siro with the club 13th in Serie A, three points above the relegation zone.

He went on to lead Milan to their first Scudetto for 11 years in 2021/22, having ended the club’s seven-year wait for Champions League football the season before.
The 58-year-old also guided Milan to the semi-final of the Champions League in 2022/23, overseeing knockout victories over Tottenham Hotspur and Napoli before losing 3-0 on aggregate to city rivals Inter at the semi-final stage.
His final game at the helm will be against Salernitana on Saturday evening.
The club said in a statement on Friday: “AC Milan extends heartfelt thanks to Stefano Pioli and his entire staff for leading the first team over the past five years, securing an unforgettable league title and re-establishing AC Milan’s consistent presence in the top European competition.
“Stefano’s professionalism and human touch have significantly contributed to the growth of the squad, embodying the club’s core values from day one.”
Milan said on behalf of Pioli: “He is deeply thankful to the ownership, management, team, staff, and everyone at Milanello and Casa Milan for their support and outstanding commitment.
“He also extends a special thanks to the many fans who have passionately supported AC Milan over the years, demonstrating unwavering dedication.”
Milan — second in the table — are 19 points behind champions Inter going into the final weekend of the season and exited the Europa League at the quarter-final stage at the hands of Roma.
Pioli’s successor is yet to be announced.
