Craig Bellamy will not be joining Vincent Kompany at Bayern Munich should the German club’s negotiations with Kompany proceed as expected.
Bellamy remains assistant at Burnley and is likely to be a contender for the vacancy at Turf Moor once Kompany’s move to Bayern is confirmed.
Bellamy, 44, has worked alongside Kompany previously at Anderlecht, the two men having played together at Manchester City and formed a close relationship.

When Kompany took over at Burnley in the summer of 2022 Bellamy went with him to Lancashire as assistant manager and was part of the club’s Championship-winning set-up.
It was thought Bellamy would follow Kompany to Germany once news of Bayern’s interest became public but the Welshman’s preference is stay in the UK and continue his coaching there.
Burnley are negotiating a severance package for Kompany and once that is concluded, there will be a focus on who succeeds the Belgian.
Burnley, relegated from the Premier League, are returning to the Championship after one year back in the top flight.
