Liverpool midfielder Fabio Carvalho has joined Championship side Hull City on a loan deal for the remainder of the season.
The Athletic reported on Monday that Hull fended off interest from elsewhere, including Championship rivals Southampton, to secure an agreement with the Portugal Under-21 international.

Carvalho, 21, returned to Anfield at the start of the January transfer window after spending the first half of the campaign on loan at RB Leipzig.
Carvalho joins Liverpool team-mate Tyler Morton at the MKM Stadium — the central midfielder has starred for Liam Rosenior’s side this campaign.
Hull head coach Rosenior said of Carvalho’s arrival: “I couldn’t be happier. Everyone is aware of Fabio’s ability, his qualities as a young player.
“I have to give Acun and Tan so much credit for the work they’ve done to bring him here.
“We’re building a reputation, not just in England but in Europe, for the way we develop players.
“Our style of play and ambition are really important factors in attracting players to the club.”
Rosenior added: “Fabio is excited to be coming here and I’m delighted to be working with him to the end of the season.
“Technically, he’s outstanding. He can assist, score and run in behind. He’s brave, quick, very balanced and takes the ball.
“The reason he’s at Liverpool is because he’s got enormous potential and I can’t thank them enough for trusting us; Liverpool have seen the work we’ve done with Tyler Morton.
“Fabio’s got the ability to make a real impact on our season and get us to where we want to be.”
Carvalho joined Liverpool from Fulham in a £5million transfer plus an additional £2.7m in add-ons in the summer of 2022, having netted 10 goals in the London club’s Championship-winning campaign in 2021-22.
However, the midfielder made only 13 Premier League appearances during his debut season at Anfield, 11 of which came before December.
Despite netting in the early-season 9-0 victory over Bournemouth and then scoring a winner deep into stoppage time against Newcastle, Liverpool sought his loan exit this season.
Carvalho made just one Bundesliga start for RB Leipzig during his spell at the club, leading to Liverpool cutting short his loan arrangement in Germany for a new January loan move.
The midfielder could make his debut for Hull, who sit seventh in the Championship standings, in Friday night’s league clash against Norwich City.
