The Monroe County (Ind.) Prosecutor’s Office charged Indiana basketball forward Mackenzie Mgbako with one count of criminal trespass Thursday.

Mgbako was arrested on two misdemeanor charges Sunday in Bloomington, Ind., according to a report from the IndyStar.

The 18-year-old was arrested by Bloomington police and booked on Class A misdemeanor charges of criminal trespassing and resisting law enforcement at 3:16 a.m. ET on Sunday, an officer at the Monroe County jail told the IndyStar. Mgbako posted bond at 5:25 a.m. ET and was later released, per the report.

“IU Athletics is aware of the situation,” an Indiana athletic department spokesperson said in a statement Sunday. “We will continue to gather facts, cooperate with and monitor the legal process, and take further action as the evolving situation warrants.”

Mgbako, a freshman from Gladstone, N.J., came to the Hoosiers as a five-star recruit ranked in the top 10 in the 2023 class. He previously committed to Duke but de-committed in April, picking Indiana over Kansas in May. Mgbako — a 2023 McDonald’s All-American — was the No. 8 overall player and the No. 2 power forward in the 2023 class, per the 247Sports Composite.

Indiana opens its season against Florida Gulf Coast on Nov. 7.
