Music superstar Taylor Swift returned to Arrowhead Stadium for Thursday night’s matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and Denver Broncos. Here’s what you need to know:

  • Swift is rumored to be dating Chiefs star Travis Kelce. The tight end, initially ruled as questionable to play after injuring his right ankle last week against the Minnesota Vikings, suited up for the game.
  • Swift has now attended three Chiefs games this season: Sept. 24 against the Chicago Bears, Oct. 1 at the New York Jets and Thursday against the Broncos.
  • The 12-time Grammy winner sat with Kelce’s mom, Donna, in the family’s box as she has for previous games.
  • The Chiefs went on to beat the Broncos 19-8 and improve to 5-1.

Backstory

The 34-year-old Kelce first publicly expressed his interest in Swift, 33, after she performed at Arrowhead Stadium in July on her Eras Tour. The eight-time Pro Bowler said he wanted to meet Swift and give her a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it, but was disappointed that Swift didn’t meet people before or after her concerts to spare her voice. Kelce still hoped for a chance to meet her.

In September, rumors took off that Kelce and Swift were in communication and saw each other when he was on a trip to New York City, where Swift primarily lives. Kelce later revealed on “The Pat McAfee Show” that he had invited Swift to watch a game at the Chiefs’ home stadium.

Swift’s surprising first appearance at Arrowhead Stadium saw her fans, known as Swifties, and football fans take a heightened interest in Kelce, sparking an increase in sales of his No. 87 jersey.
