We wanted to let you know about some exciting changes to your Premier League and Championship matchday experience with The Athletic.
Instead of hosting our game discussions on individual club and league feeds, they will now be based within our new match hub.
So, how do you find it?
Go to the fixture tab in the app or your club’s scores page on desktop to find the match hub and live discussions, including other new features to improve your match experience, such as advanced stats and player-raters. As long as you follow the club feed, you can access the discussion along with other fans of your club.
Will The Athletic’s writers still be joining in the discussion?
Yes, absolutely. When we have a dedicated reporter at a match or following the game, they will still get involved in the comments and try to answer your questions where possible.
What about other competitions?
We will also be rolling out match hubs for:
- International Football
- La Liga
- Championship
- Europa League
- FA Cup
- League Cup
- Copa del Rey
Will this be for web, iOS and Android?
To give the best user experience, we are making a few final tweaks to the Android version, which will mean you won’t see the discussion tab yet in the app, but Android users will be able to find the discussion tab on mobile and desktop webpages.
The match hub discussion threads will be in the app by mid-September.
