But it’s Sandra Hüller’s chilly performance at the center of the film, our critic Manohla Dargis argues, that provides the true mystery behind this whodunit. “When it’s all over,” Manohla says, “you immediately want to turn to the person you’ve seen the movie with and say, ‘Oh my god, let’s talk about this. This is amazing. What did we just watch?’”
