The death of Angus Cloud, the 25-year-old actor who portrayed the drug dealer Fezco on the HBO show “Euphoria,” was caused by acute intoxication following an accidental overdose, according to the Alameda County Coroner’s Bureau.

The coroner’s office said that Mr. Cloud, who died in July, had ingested cocaine, methamphetamine, fentanyl and benzodiazepines.

An earlier statement by the family said that Mr. Cloud had “intensely struggled” after the recent death of his father, and noted that he had been open about his battles with mental health.

“He did not intend to end his life,” Lisa Cloud, Mr. Cloud’s mother, said in a Facebook post in August. “When we hugged goodnight we said how much we loved each other and he said he would see me in the morning. I don’t know if or what he may have put in his body after that.

“I only know,” she continued, “that he put his head on the desk where he was working” on art projects and did not wake up.

Ms. Cloud said her son was in “deep grief” about his father’s death from mesothelioma, but that Mr. Cloud spent his last day joyfully, reorganizing his room and discussing how he would provide financially for his mother and sisters.

“It’s abundantly clear that he did not intend to check out of this world,” Ms. Cloud said. “His struggles were real. He gave and received so much love and support to and from his tribe.”

After Mr. Cloud’s death on July 31, several “Euphoria” cast members posted tributes to the actor on social media.

Zendaya, who starred as Rue Bennett on the show’s first two seasons, said on Instagram that “words are not enough to describe the infinite beauty that is Angus,” referring to his kind eyes, bright smile and infectious cackle of a laugh.

Sydney Sweeney, who played Cassie Howard, addressed Mr. Cloud on Instagram: “Angus you were an open soul, with the kindest heart, and you filled every room with laughter.”
