Infallible for nearly a week, the Cuba boxing team finally showed signs that it is not unbeatable tonight.

The Pan American Games champion, Julio Gonzalez, was upset in the lightweight division and the light flyweight Yosvani Aguilera was also outpointed as the Cubans lost their first two fighters of the Olympic tournament.

Gonzalez, No. 3 in the world coming in, lost a free-swinging brawl to Koba Gogoladze of the Georgia Republic, 9-3.

Aguilera, not a medal favorite, was beaten by Mansueto Velasco of the Philippines by a score of 14-5.
