Tyson Foods Inc., the poultry producer, said this week that it would close its Boaz, Ala., plant on April 19, eliminating 275 jobs. The company said the closing was part of its consolidation but that it would offer jobs at other Alabama plants to as many of the affected employees as possible. The company said work currently done at the plant would be shifted to other Tyson plants.
