A 72-year-old toy manufacturer, Aldredo Capacchietti, was freed unharmed near a highway outside Pescara today after his family paid $410,000 ransom, the police said.

He was kidnapped on Dec. 7. Fifty people were kidnapped in Italy last year. Two were killed; 33 were freed, and 15 are missing. Four people have been kidnapped this year.
