A memorial service for Nancy Hanks, who headed the National Endowment for the Arts and the National Council on the Arts in the Nixon, Ford and Carter Administrations, will be held at 11 A.M. Jan. 18 at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, Amsterdam Avenue at 112th Street.

Miss Hanks died last Friday at the age of 55. The Very Rev. James Parks Morton, dean of the cathedral and a cousin of Miss Hanks, will preside. A tribute to Miss Hanks is being planned for a later date in Washington.
