LAKELAND, Fla., March (UPI)—Aurelio Rodriguez drove in two runs with a double and a single today as the Detroit Tigers scored their first victory of the exhibition season, 3‐0, over the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Rodriguez, who had three hits, doubled home Dick McAuliffe in the first inning against Nelson Briles, and singled McAuliffe home in the sixth.

Cesar Gutierrez scored the Tigers’ third run in the seventh with the aid of three errors by the Pittsburgh shortstop, Jackie Hernandez. Tom Timmerman, Bill Galbreth, Chuck Seelbach and Phil Meeler combined to hold the Pirates to five hits.
