TORONTO, March 1 (Canadian Press)—Trans‐Canada Pipelines, Ltd., announced today new issue of shares totaling $125‐million, believed to be the largest equity issue in Canadian history.

The company said it plans to sell 2.5‐million $2.65 cumulative redeemable second preferred shares, Series A, each with a par value of $50.

The company said proceeds of the offering will be used to pay its short‐term debt.
