RAWALPINDI, Pakistan, Jan. 7—The Government announced tonight that the Shah of Iran would arrive here tomorrow for a day of talks on the situation in the subcontinent.
The Shah has repeatedly offered his good offices in resolving the continuing conflict between India and Pakistan, although Iran is a Moslem country with strong ties to Pakistan.
It is presumed the Shah and President Zulfikar All Bhutto will discuss such subjects as the mutual repatriation of prisoners, a permanent truce arrangement and the return of Sheik Mujibur Rahman, the Bengali leader, to what was East Pakistan.
It seemed possible that Sheik Mujib, who remains under house arrest here, would return to Dacca by way of Iran after nine months of imprisonment in West Pakistan.
President Bhutto has said he intends to release Sheik Mujib soon but has not specified when.
Iran sought to bring Indian and Pakistani leaders together several times in the last few months, without success.
