The Chilton amendment to the revenue bill is meeting with great opposition, and not unjustly. Practically it imposes a tax of various amount -- sometimes as high as 10 per cent. upon the sale of all goods made under a patent or bearing a trade mark. Now, a tax on the gross sales of all retailers, though very harsh, and difficult to collect, would be fair. View Full Article in Timesmachine »
