The dedication of this volume to Prof. Caesar Lombroso indicates the author's mental idiosyncracies. What Lombroso did was to note the peculiarities of the criminal classes, to indicate their abnormal physical condition, and in doing that much he used a dragnet, hauling in a great many other subjects not criminal.
