John McCarthy and Andrew Miller forged the signatures of Schappert Schlachter, No. 20 Second avenue, to two checks on the Mechanics' and Traders' National Bank, and obtained thereon $1,500. Miller pleaded guilty and was remanded for sentence; McCarthy furnished $3,000 bail at the District Attorney's office yesterday, and was released. View Full Article in Timesmachine »
