IKEA should do betterMikeThere are so many issues with compatibility of non-ikea product. Want a black faucet with matching stopper and overflow? Sorry 😐 Want to fit US plumbing? Sorry 😞 Could be SO much better1
Almost impossible to obtain the rest of the system. ShawnThe main product is fine. The rest of the required parts to complete or repair a bath sink are just about non existent. There not listed for sale, associates no nothing about them, yet there pictured in the assembly diagrams. Basically can’t find or get help to purchase the overflow kit. 2
Exactly What I neededMoniqueThis was the missing piece to my bathroom remodel. It fit perfect with my new Ikea sink and was easy to install. Worked great and was adjustable to fit our sink. 5
No stopper/plugBeckyWhy doesn't this come with a stopper or plug? No option to buy one?1
Better than similar products at other home stores such as Homedepot/Lowe's.BoBetter than similar products at other home stores such as Homedepot/Lowe's.5
Plumbing RomualdasIt worked very well 5
water trapRobertthis is a 1 1/2" drain (kitchen size) bathroom sinks are 1 1/4". So this won't fit into the wall.
What am I missing?1
This Saved My Bathroom RemodelMarshaExtremely grateful to have come across this water trap for a 14" depth vanity. It saved my contractor from having to cut into the drawers on a very hard to find european free standing vanity (and my sanity). It was easy to install and saved $$$$ after looking into siphon drains from Laufen.
I recommend this space saving drain assembly for anyone dealing with a small bathroom remodel.
All the negative reviews are due to customer error for not carefully reading all of the product info.5
Works greatDavidThis does work great. My critique is that I cannot switch out the drain for one that's push to open as the original equipment doubles as the method of securing the drain pipe to the sink basin.4
nice but complexFrankthis is one of the most complex drains i installed. in the end it seems nice but is very complex and doesn't fit (our US drain pipe. and....we bought this separated for the project ....to find same in box with the sink we bought. one of the most complex projects i had as such.3
Does not work under my RÄTTVIKEN sink.AntonellaThe original plumbing fixture that came with my RÄTTVIKEN sink was called "RINNEN." I needed to replace some of the parts, and I thought the RÄNNILEN fixture would work. Unfortunately, the RÄNNILEN drain does not fit to my sink. Ikea discontinued the RINNEN plumbing fixture and the RÄNNILEN seemed promising, but it did not work.3
Keeps cloggingDonataI have this set up for my 2 ikea vanities for the last 7 years and I would never go for this plumbing design again. Sinks keep clogging every 3-4 months and it allows the smell in so that its awful! In other standard American vanity sinks I can unscrew and clean the hair clogs very easily. Not with the ikea design. Disappointed!1
Just what we need it!NataliaJust what we need it!5
Do Note Buy Water Trap Unless Still Have the OverflowToddLike a previous reviewer, I ordered a Raennilen Water Trap online. The kit did not contain the parts for the overflow even though they are clearly referenced in the assembly diagram. Suggesting that I come into a story defies logic since I ordered it online for a reason. If the parts "do not exist" why are they referenced in the assembly diagram? Parts 10046279, 10044931 and 10044930. Let's see a human being reads this review or if there's an automatic suggestion to come into a store to return the product in 180 days ...1
Works wellTamThis is the key to making the drawers work on the vanity. Brilliant design.5
Doesn't work with ikea faucet strainerAngelaUpdate: I thought I could buy an ikea faucet and use the strainer plug to just plug righ into the drain that comes with this assembly. Unfortunately, it does not appear to fit. This one has a hex key type shape in the middle. I have no idea now what type of strainer plug to put on this thing. Why would they make it incompatible with their own faucet strainers???3
Space saving ptrap for standard sinks as wellAngelaOur drain height was interfering with the shelf in our new vanity and this saved the day. Couple things to know. 1. You can install this on a standard sink drain with the overflow built into the sink. 2. Fits 1 1/2" stub into the wall although it did seem slightly loose (we used a different heavy duty ptrap piece). If you have 1 1/4" inside diameter from the wall you'll need adapters. 3. It comes with the drain ring in chrome but not the strainer you stick into it. You have to buy an ikea chrome faucet with strainer to get the strainer, not sold separately (probably comes with ikea sink too). There are other color faucets ikea has but not all come with a strainer (matte black is missing from the line up). Hope this helps as I had to make a trip to the store to figure it all out.5
Awesome idea!DebraThanks for creating a drain so I can have an almost full top drawer in my bathroom vanity! Brilliant!5
It worksMelissaI do like this design for sink plumbing. I just wish it was more flexible to adjust. My bathroom pipes were slightly off a couple inches and had to kind of slant it to make it work. I’m not a plumber and this is very easy to install.3
