This article contains light spoilers for The Bear season 3.

That "to be continued" message certainly whet the appetite of The Bear fans. While FX surprised viewers by moving up the season 3 premiere of The Bear by three hours, we're far from satiated. Lucky for us, it seems the Emmy-winning dramedy is already firing up a fourth season.

Deadline reported earlier this year that the cast and crew filmed seasons 3 and 4 of The Bear back to back in Chicago. While the network has yet to make any public announcements, no need to panic. Here's what we know about Carmy and the crew's future so far:

Will there be The Bear season 4?

It's yet to be confirmed by FX directly. However, multiple sources have told both Variety and Deadline that The Bear will continue into another season. It falls in line with rumors that season 4 was filmed after season 3.

What's more, the cast answered cryptically when pressed on the question during a press conference. Jeremy reportedly told The Playlist: “We did something like that.” While Ayo Edebiri, who plays Sydney, added, “Yeah, a little version of it, sort of. But not exactly.”

Jeremy echoed, “Not exactly,” before Ayo quipped: “Is that helpful for journalism?” Abby Elliot vaguely said: “You'll have to find out.” FX backed up those statements to The Playlist, saying only some elements of season 4 were filmed in advance.

Liza Colón-Zayas had a little bit more to say than her co-stars. When asked by ExtraTV if there is a season 4 coming, the actress responded: "Yes, Chef."

Will season 4 of The Bear be the last?

That's still unclear. With the growing star power of the cast, it's hard to say. Many fans suspect the reason for filming both seasons at once was to solve any conflicting schedules among actors.

Jeremy is slated to star in a Bruce Springston biopic. Ayo dropped out of Marvel's Thunderbolts because production ran late, and she had other work conflicts — it's likely she could be booked as well. Ebon Moss-Bachrach also begins filming The Fantastic Four in late July.

Is there a release date for The Bear season 4?

Although FX has yet to announce an official season 4 premiere, fans can anticipate its arrival on Hulu in June 2025 based on its track record. The first season debuted in June 2022, followed by the second in June 2023 and the third in June 2024. Let's hope FX takes notes from Carmy's "detail and specificity" mantra.

The season 3 finale of The Bear ends with a suspenseful "to be continued" screen, leaving fans eagerly anticipating the next chapter. Among the burning questions is Sydney's big decision: Will she accept former Ever chef Adam Shapiro's offer to become his new head chef, or will she remain at The Bear and officially partner with Carmy?

Family will need to deal with the repercussions of The Chicago Tribune's review. And if it skews unfavorably, Cicero (Oliver Platt) will stop funding the restaurant. There's also still that goal of earning a Michelin star. As the pressure mounts to turn a profit, can the restaurant meet this challenge while upholding Carmy's stringent standards and non-negotiables?

These tantalizing questions tee up an exciting next season.
