Alecia Holden10/3 odds to win
Currently the leader in our projections to win the season, Alecia is somewhat of an enigma considering her placement on the Brawn tribe. While the other female contestants on her tribe are clearly “brawny,” Alecia could easily fit in on the “beauty” tribe. But don’t be fooled, she grew up around boxing and considers herself fearless. Her ability to blend in among any of the tribes, especially if she makes it to a tribal swap and/or merge, could be her greatest asset.

Cydney Gillon22/1 odds to win
Man, Cydney is buff. Of course she is, she’s a bodybuilder. During the tribe stage of the competition, Cydney is bound to be an asset, but she’s also aware that once it becomes an individual game that she’ll be perceived as a physical threat. My bigger concern is her social game — she admits to not getting along with girls and that if she’s backed into a corner she’ll “come out swinging.” Cydney’s challenge seems like it’ll be finding the right balance between being an asset in challenges and remaining pleasant to live with back at camp.

Darnell Hamilton100/1 odds to win
I’m still trying to figure out what caused producers to classify Darnell as “brawny,” but based on his interview it seems it’s his history as a child from the projects and ability to use his intuition and street smarts to make a better life for himself against all odds. I won’t fault producers for that because you have to be pretty strong to do that and, frankly, it means he has the qualities it takes to maneuver through the social game well enough to win. Unfortunately, with 100/1 odds to win, none of our odds-makers seem to think he has a chance.

Jennifer Lanzetti33/1 odds to win
Lifetime “Survivor” fans will probably agree with me, but Jennifer reminds me immediately of Ami Cusack (from “Survivor: Vanuatu” and “Survivor: Micronesia”). On Ami’s original season she was the ringleader of one of the most dominant all-female alliances of all time (though a male still won) and my guess is Jennifer is going to attempt the same strategy. Jennifer’s interview focuses on her admiration of women in the construction business and her belief that gender should never be an issue. The problem with Jennifer’s game is her admittance that rain is going to be tough for her to acclimate to. She hates it. Good luck!

Kyle Jason66/1 odds to win
Of all the 18 interviews, Kyle’s is the least focused on what his strategy will be. Perhaps that’s because he doesn’t have one, which I tend to believe. He’s a bounty hunter now, but served a number of years in the military. His attitude toward life is not to plan, but to go by the seat of one’s pants. In “Survivor,” that could make for great gameplay. The only problem is I can’t tell if Kyle knows that. Another red flag is that stupidity irks him, making him liable to going off on another castaway for a potentially silly reason.

Scot Pollard50/1 odds to win
A former professional basketball player — obviously, the guy’s 6’11” — I expected Scot’s interview to be about the lie he’s going to tell to cover up his fame. Nope. Unlike the handful of former athletes to precede him, Scot is going to be open about his career cloaked by the belief that there’s nothing in the “Survivor” rulebook that says rich people can’t win. What he’s forgetting though is that the one rule of “Survivor” is that there really are no rules, especially when it comes to why a jury member votes for (or against) a winner.
