What’s new on Paramount+ in July 2024

Peter Sarsgaard and Jessica Chastain in Memory.
Ketchup Entertainment

Paramount+ doesn’t have any new shows in July that can compare with the June premieres of Mayor of Kingstown and Criminal Minds: Evolution, both of which will have new episodes throughout the month. But Paramount+ doesn’t call itself  “a mountain of content” for no reason. The Mafia Spies docuseries should attract true crime lovers, while children of all ages can enjoy Kamp Koral: SpongeBob’s Under Years.

Jessica Chastain and Peter Sarsgaard’s Memory is also arriving on Paramount+ this month after its short theatrical run in late 2023. Meanwhile, the music documentary miniseries, Melissa Etheridge: I’m Not Broken, will premiere on July 9. But before that arrives, there are plenty of fan-favorite movies to watch on July 1 including the Star Trek films, the Die Hard films, Identity, The Truman Show, and more.

Unfortunately, certain titles are only available on Paramount+ with Showtime subscribers. Keep that in mind when looking over our roundup of everything new on Paramount+ in July 2024. The shows and movies below marked with an asterisk (*) are only available on Paramount+ with Showtime. Titles marked with a double asterisk (**) can be live-streamed from CBS by Paramount+ with Showtime subscribers. Our picks for the month are in bold.

And if you subscribe to other streaming services, we also have helpful guides to the best movies on Netflix and best shows on Netflix, as well as the best movies streaming on Amazon and best TV shows streaming on Amazon, plus plenty of guides for Hulu, Disney+, and HBO Max.

What’s new on Amazon Prime Video in July 2024
Jason Statham broods in a still from The Beekeeper

It may be too soon to call Amazon Prime Video the best streaming service of 2024, but if it keeps bringing the hits like it does in July then it's got a pretty strong case for the No. 1 position. Following The Boys season 4 and Oppenheimer, Prime Video could have slowed down. Instead, Amazon's streaming service is adding recent releases like The Beekeeper, Bob Marley: One Love, Lisa Frankenstein, and Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part 1.

Additionally, this month's Prime Video original movies include My Spy: The Eternal City and Space Cadet. There's also an unusually high number of classic films like Breakfast at Tiffany's, Dr. Strangelove, Easy Rider, From Here to Eternity, Guess Who's Coming to Dinner, Lawrence of Arabia, and The Bridge on the River Kwai. Franchises are also represented by most of the Rocky and Star Trek films.

What’s new on Netflix and what’s leaving in July 2024
The cast of Cobra Kai.

Netflix subscribers, you're in for several treats in July. While June may have been a little sparse with the original programing, July has Cobra Kai season 6 part 1, Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, Star Trek: Prodigy season 2, and a new season of Unsolved Mysteries. Those are just the highlights of the Netflix originals. July is also pretty jam-packed with shows from other networks or studios including the arrival of Suits season 9, all six seasons of Lost, and All American season 6.

Thankfully, Netflix didn't skimp on the films coming to the service in July. The Back to the Future and Spider-Man trilogies are both back on Netflix alongside several other fan-favorite flicks from a wide variety of genres. It's an impressive lineup, and yet another example of why Netflix remains the dominant streamer.
