Watch: Is the blur between work and home life sustainable?

Pandemic solutions for out of office work created workflows that felt revolutionary. Throwing a load of laundry in between zoom calls? No problem. Walking the dog before that 2pm presentation? Of course.

But is the blur between work and home life sustainable? Business columnist, associate editor and host of Globe Opinion’s “Say More” podcast, Shirley Leung, says no. Her research culminated in a four-part podcast series titled, “Beating Burnout,” to spotlight insights and advice from leading experts on the topic.

“I hit rock bottom in the fall of 2020,” she said to Boston Globe Today guest host Diti Kohli. “I have two kids, they were out of school and they were in that awful hybrid work school schedule. So, it was such a stressful time.” You can watch Leung and Kohli’s full conversation in the segment at the top of this story.

That experience launched Leung on a two year journey to answer the question, “How do I get back to my old self, my pre-pandemic self, where work didn’t feel like work and life wasn’t overwhelming?”
