During this week’s record-breaking heat, Massachusetts beachgoers have been met with clogged roadways, full parking lots, and sold-out beaches.
Due to the weather, thousands of people visited Salisbury Beach on Wednesday, which caused “heavy delays and gridlocked traffic conditions” on Beach Road Rt. 1A and North End Boulevard — both single lane roads, wrote Salisbury Police on X.
“Please be patient while waiting in the heavy traffic conditions,” wrote Salisbury Police, who noted they were doing their best to streamline the outbound traffic.
Meanwhile, parking lots were full at Nantasket Beach in Hull on Wednesday, according to Massachusetts State Police.
“All roads in and out of the beach area are jammed and traffic is at a standstill,” wrote the police on X. “Traffic is backed up to the Hingham rotary and beyond.”
Other beaches were full to capacity.
Crane Beach in Ipswich was sold out Wednesday, The Trustees of Reservations posted on X.
Crane Beach was recently named the best beach in Massachusetts by Boston.com readers.
